The Cross River State College of Health Technology (CHT), Calabar invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the institution for the 2015/2016 session.

  1. Nigerian Registered Nurse (NRN)
  2. National Diploma or its equivalent in Nursing.
  3. Holders of the above must possess the basic O’level credits in English, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
HND IN PUBLIC HEALTH NURSING (WAHEB)
2a.ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH OFFICER (ND/HND)TWO (2) /FOUR (4) YEARSMinimum entry requirement into National Diploma (ND) in Environmental Health Science Programme is five (5) O’level credits in English language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and Biology or Health Science in either WAEC/NECO at not more than two sittings. Candidates with JAMB score of 160 and above have added advantageND,HND IN ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH TECHNOLOGY (WAHEB)
2b.ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH TECHNICIANTHREE (3) YEARSMinimum of 5 passes in O’level WASSC/ SSCE/GCE/NECO at not more than 2 sittings. Three(3) of the passes must be at credit level and should include English Language, Biology, or Health Science, Geography, Physics, Chemistry, Agricultural Science, Technical Drawing and any other subject.ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH TECHNICIAN DIPLOMA (WAHEB)
2c.ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH ASSISTANTSTWO (2) YEARSFour (4) O’level passes which should include at least one science subject (Biology, Chemistry, Health Science, Nutrition, Physics). A pass in English language will be an added advantage.CERTIFICATE
3a.COMMUNITY HEALTH EXTENSION WORKER (CHEW)THREE (3) YEARSFive (5) Credit level passes at WASSC/ SSCE/GCE/NECO O’level not more than two (2) sittings. These must include: English language, Mathematics Physics, Chemistry, andBiology/Health Science. Also candidates with JCHEW certificates have an added advantage.NATIONAL DIPLOMA IN COMMUNITY HEALTH.(NATIONAL COMM. HEALTH PRACTITIONERS BOARD.)
3b.JUNIOR COMMUNITY HEALTH EXTENSION WORKER (JCHEW)TWO (2)YEARSThree (3) credits and 2 passes at O’level WASSC or NECO in not more than two sittings to include English language, Mathematics, Biology/Health Science and any other two subjectsCERTIFICATE IN JUNIOR COMMUNITY HEALTH (NCHPBC)
4aPROFESSIONAL DIPLOMA IN HEALTH INFORMATION MGTTHREE (3) YEARSA minimum of 3 Credits and 2 passes in the relevant subjects at not more than twosittings at the SSCE/ WASSC or its equivalent. The subjects must include: English language, Mathematics, Biology or Health Science, Physics or Chemistry and any other subject.DIPLOMA IN HEALTH INFORMATION MANAGEMENT.(HRORBN)
4bND/HND HEALTH INFORMATION MGTTWO (2) /FOUR (4) YEARSNational Diploma (ND) in H.I.Mwith a minimum of lower credit. Health Record Technician Certificate with a minimum of lower credit five (5) O’level credits in English language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and Biology or Health Science in either WAEC/NECO at not more than two sittings. Candidates with JAMB score of 160 and above will have added advantage.NATIONAL DIPLOMA/HIGHER NATIONAL DIPLOMA IN HEALTH INFOR- MATION MANAGEMENT.
5a.MEDICAL LABORATORY ASSISTANTTWO (2) YEARSfollowing subject: English language, Biology, and any other subject. A pass in Mathematics and Chemistry is compulsory. (Results more than five years as at the date of this registration will be rejected by the Registration Board.MEDICAL LAB. ASSISTANT CERTIFICATE
5b.MEDICAL LABORATORY TECHNICIANTHREE (3) YEARSRequires WASSC/SSCE/GCE/NECO — Four credit passes in the following subjects: Eng. Language, Maths, Biology and Chemistry with at least a pass in Physics. (Results more than five years as at the date of this registration willbe rejected by the Registration Board). Holders of Medical Lab. Assistant certificate with the above O’level requirement can also apply for two (2) years programme leading to Technician Certificate.MEDICAL LAB. TECHNICIAN CERTIFICATE
6.DISPENSING OPTICIANRYTHREE (3) YEARSFour (4) credit passes at not more than two (2) sittings in WASSC/ SSCE/GCE/NECO in the following subjects: English language, Maths, Biology, chemistry and Physics, minimum of pass in English language or mathematics. A candidate with a minimum of 10 years cognate experience in optical dispensing (apprenticeship), who have two or three credits in any of these subjects may also be considered for admission.NATIONAL DIPLOMA
7.CENTRE FOR ENTREPRENEURAL STUDIESONE (1) YEARWAEC/NECO attempted or lesser certificate with some experience related to interested course of study.CERTIFICATE
8.COMPUTER SCIENCETWO (2) YEARS
  1. Four credit level passes in WASSC/ SSCE/GCE/NECO at not more than two sittings. The four subjects must include Mathematics, Physics, English Language and any other subject.
  2. Four credit passes in an NBTE recognized preliminary National Diploma course offered in a Polytechnic or similar post Secondary Technical Institution. The credit pass must include mathematics, physics, English Language and any other subject.
  3. A pass in computer Foundation Examination (CFE) of Computer professionals Registration Council of Nigeria (CPN). The student must be prima fascia qualified as in (a) above.
NATIONAL DIPLOMA IN COMPUTER SCIENCE
METHOD OF APPLICATION
Step 1: Obtain Scratch card from First Bank PLC or buy the E-channel PIN (using your debit card) at the cost of N4,500 (four thousand five hundred naira).
Step 2: Gain access to the Online Registration Form at (www.chtcalabar.edu.ng) using the Scratch Card PIN and Serial Number.
Step 3: Complete the Online Registration Form.
Step 4: Print out the completed form and submit to the Admission Officer.
APPLICATION DEADLINE
Closing date for sales of forms – 5th June 2015.
SCREENING SCHEDULE
Applicants will be subjected to an entrance examination scheduled for 13th June, 2015.
