The Vice-Chancellor of Ekiti State University, Professor Samuel Oye Bandele has settled the misunderstanding between students of the University and the Drivers plying Ado-Ekiti EKSU Campus route.
The settlement was made during a meeting involving all stakeholders held inside the Senate chamber of the institution yesterday.
The two sides were allowed to make their grievances known before Professor Samuel Oye Bandele was with other management Staff resolved the issues involved.
Professor Bandele urged the transporters to make proper registration with the University and obtain emblems for their various vehicles.
The meeting also resolved to allow private transporters operate on Campus and have a different motor park. It was decided that there should be frequent meetings to review developments. The first meeting
for the review has been scheduled for January, 2016.
The students’ leaders and drivers have been having running battles on transportation fees, operation of other private vehicle owners and overloading.
The meeting was attended by members of the university management, Security agencies among others.
