Applications are been accepted from international students for the Malaysia International Scholarship (MIS).
ABOUT THE SCHOLARSHIP
The scholarship which is funded by the Malaysian government was created to bring the best students around the world who have outstanding academic results as well as good curricular background to further their studies in well grounded Malaysian public and private universities, with the hope of retaining such talented students.
The scholarship is divided into two, Postgraduate and Post-doctoral Studies
The scholarship covers the following
Tuition fees
Monthly allowance for maintenance
Medical insurance
Yearly grant for books and transport locally
Air tickets from applicant’s capital city to Malaysia
installation and Termination grant,
Allowance for visa and thesis
FIELD OF STUDY
Scholarships are awarded in the following areas : Infrastructure and Utility, Environmental Studies, Health which does include nursing, medicine, clinical pharmacy, Science and Engineering, Agriculture and Fisheries, Economics and Islamic Finance, Information and Communication Technology, Biotechnology, Biosecurity and Food Safety
ELIGIBILITY
When applying should not be more than 40 years old for postgraduate studies and 45 years old for post doctoral studies
For master’s studies should have at least a second class upper or CGPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale at bachelor degree level and master’s degree and PhD applicants should have a CGPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale very good result at Masters degree level in a similar field of intended PhD study
Also for post-doctoral programme, the selection depends on the number of books produced, refereed/non refereed journals, portfolio and patent copyright. The Post-Doctoral applicant must have outstanding recognition and capability in research and have knowledge related to the research to be done.
Should have taken an English language fluency test not more than two years before the date of application. The test and least scores needed are : IELTS Academic Test with a minimum score of 6.5; or TOEFL paper-based test with a minimum score of 580 or computer-based test with a score of at least 230 or internet-based test with a score at least 92.

Should be in good health condition
Should have written a proposal that is of importance to area of study
Should have an offer of admission from Malaysian universities
