Unilag does not accept OND or HND for direct entry into all programmes but they do for just few of its courses. Unilag accepts OND/HND(Distiction only) for engineering courses and also course in the faculty of environmental sciences(Architecture, EstateManagement, Urban & Regional Planning, Building Tech & Quantitity Surveying)…..
As an OND/HND holder the require grade to be eligible for direct entry admission into the department listed above is a distinction although Building Tech alone do accept at least upper credit.
The only acceptable qualification for direct entry into the faculty of sciences & Social sciences in Unilag is Unilag Diploma(Jupeb) & Cambridge Alevel result. Example of courses offered in the faculty of sciences are Maths, Biochemistry, physics, Chemistry, Computer Science, Cell Biology & Genetics, Geology, Geophysics, Marine Biology, etc.
Example of courses offered in the faculty of Social Sciences are Mass Communication(For Mass Comm Unilag accepts its own diploma only), Political Science, Psychology, Economics, Sociology, Social Work & Geography.
For Medicine & Pharmacy, Unilag do accepts Unilag Diploma(Jupeb), Cambridge Alevel & First degree cert( minimum of second class upper division).
Unilag do accepts Unilag Diploma(Jupeb) & Cambriged Alevel for other medical related courses like physiology, radiography, Dentistry, etc.
Faculty of law accepts same as in Medicine & Pharmacy Above.
Unilag do accepts HND/OND(distinction) for creative art. Also Unilag diploma & Cambridge Alevel is also accepted for this course.
LASU Diploma in communication art is accepted for linguistics in Unilag.
Faculty of education accepts Unilag diploma, Cambridge Alevel & NCE for direct entry into its programmes.
In summary: Basically, you can use Unilag diploma(Jupeb) & Cambridge Alevel to apply for any of the courses Offered in Unilag. Direct entry Candidates must also fulfill Unilag Olevel requirement for their chosen course.
Application for direct entry into Unilag is via Jamb Direct entry application form. Unilag does not sell this form. It is the sole responsibility of jamb office.
STEPS TO APPLY FOR UNILAG DIRECT ENTRY FULL TIME PROGRAMME
NOTE: Unilag full time undergraduate Programme is not for Olevel holders although all direct entry applicants must also fulfil Olevel requirement but you can’t use Olevel result alone to gain direct entry admission into Unilag.
Unilag direct entry opportunity is for advance certificate holders. Certificate such as OND/HND, Unilag Diploma(Jupeb), First degree Cert(Bachelor degree), NCE, Cambrdge Alevel & NRN and it’s equivalents. In addition to any of these, your Olevel result must be complete in one sitting.
If you ve got any of the qualification above couple with Olevel result in a single sitting and you are qualified for the course you wanna apply for, then here is what next to do:
- Get Jamb direct entry form from jamb office or retail outlet nationwide(On Sale around April/may yearly)
- Fill the form online and print out the acknowledgement slip.
- Attache all your credentials to a copy of the acknowledgement form you printed out from online.
- Submit it to jamb office & also to Unilag admission office( Unilag normally collects the form around June/July)
- Keep a copy for yourself
- Pray and hold on for the admission list.
