The Last Days at Forcados High School is a novel featuring Jimi Solade fully called Akinjimi.
He was one of three all-male children born to Mr. and Mrs. solade. While the oldest, Femi was in the United Kingdom now, Wole, the second had just returned home again, perhaps from school where he was expelled.
Jimi was the last and yet in High school.
At this time, Jimi was in the final class in high school, SS3. Jimi had grown up as a lover of knowledge and a brilliant carrier in Solade’s family, but went unappreciated by his parents, but for his mother who cared for him just as every woman would nurse her children.
Their father was a perfectionist, yet lacked the basis for disciplining children to be what he wanted them to be. And So Wole who had bad companions became a victim of juvenile delinquencies ranging from drug abuse to robbery, although it is not told if he tried sexual immortality. But that, Jimi was ardent for.
In his days in the final class at Forcados, Jimi had lived all his life seeking the love of a new student in his school who had just joined them in the final class perhaps to take the WAEC examination in the next school term.
Efua was her name. Before now, Jimi had always partner with one Caro who was really but after him, for his academic prowess. Jimi Solade was a variety.
He was best Chemistry and Mathematics student at Forcados. He did excellently in other subjects especially Physics that he often enjoyed class participation on.
Yet, Jimi was an athlete who had come first in many interhouse racing competition and with his football team had won many matches.
He even won the race that he thought would win the heart of the new student, Efua Coker for him, yet Efua was always never interested in boys, not even Jolly who sought her love with threats.
The only occasion that permitted Jimi to win Efua he long sought was the cancer illness of his mother. At that, Jimi dropped his arrogant shows of self and became moody. It made him the boy Efua wanted. It was after a Laboratory work after school hours Jimi found her coincidentally returning home from her meeting with the newly posted corper, Novi who was also still unmarried. They were voluntary health workers. That day they held hands walking home as they talked. But it was interfered with by the storm of riot in the town wherein the passionate Efua rescued a helpless boy with a disability who was with them throughout the storm in Jimi’s friend’s shop for safety.

At last, Jimi lost his caring mother and now had to live with his harsh father and the wayward Wole only in the house. But again his father took to a long stayaway from home outside the country which would last for 5 months. Thus, for the rest of that last part of the final year in school, Jimi lived with the corrupt Wole in a Hell at home.
Wole had earlier influenced him by taking him to a night meeting with drug addicts when their mother was still okay, but they told no one about it. Yet, this time Jimi was more careful of Wole.
Ansa the painting seed loved Jimi so well as a friend who Nene the church girl was also friends with. With Efua, the trio cared for Jimi when his brother made him uncomfortable at home with unsuiting friends and environment of awful music and drinks including cigarette.
But, jealous of Efua for her beauty which even her step father had as early as 13 begun molesting her sexually, Nene began conflicting with her. Getting a letter of love pre written for Corper Novi who was soon to leave was firsthand object for scoring her goal. Efua again suffered that mockery all alone. But soon got over it at her return from psychiatric hospital.
Then, Wole in want of money took the lab key from Jimi’s school bag and with his friends invaded and stole microscopes and lots more. But they were arrested. Jimi had to take his elder brother’s blame for mercy sake.
But conscientious Efua made the truth come out and Both Jimi and his guilty brother were freed.
Efua journeyed out of the country right away. But the other students returned for their results and graduation even as Jimi and others got scholarships. Jimi lived to remember Efua.
When again, he sat with Ansa who backbone Efua to stand for Jimi’s innocence in the theft, Jimi and Ansa knew they had come through many odds and had helped each other.
They only constantly laughed together each questioning the other why he laughed.
So it ended in a comedy.
Their days in forcados were fulfilled.
They had achieved their aims at last.
