100 Students Of FUTO Nominated To Participate In The Nigerian Universities Electronic Teaching & Learning Platform By TETFund

The Vice-Chancellor, Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO), Professor Chigozie C. Asiabaka , has approved and nominated 100 academic staff of FUTO to participate in the Nigerian Universities Electronic Teaching and Learning Platform Training , being organized by TETFund and slated to hold at FUTO Wednesday – Friday, December 9 – 11, 2015.

The Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) was established as an intervention agency under the TETFund Act, 2011, and charged with the responsibility of managing, disbursing and monitoring the education tax to public tertiary institutions in Nigeria.

TETFund ensures that funds generated from education tax are utilized to improve the quality of education in Nigeria. To fulfill this mandate, TETFund pioneered the deployment of e- classroom; a collection of several components that are designed with the sole purpose of creating an up to date environment that aids learning and encourages lecturer and student to embrace technology. The specific objectives of the forthcoming e- learning training are to train participating academic staff on how to: Prepare instructional materials in a format compatible with interactive LED screen, already provided and installed at FUTO by TETFund Relate seamlessly in the virtual classroom environment Prepare, deploy, store, retrieve, and broadcast educational resources over multiple media and devices. The training has been scheduled to hold as follows:


Date: Wednesday – Friday, December 9 – 11, 2015

Venue: FUTO ICT Centre

Time: 9am – 5pm daily.

The list of nominated and approved participating academic staff has been sent to the Departments. Kindly check with your Head of Department to confirm if you have been nominated to participate in the training.
