UNIBEN Produces 64 First Class As 6000 Students Graduate

The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Faraday Orumwense, of the University of Benin has disclosed that 64 out of 6,000 first degree graduates in the 2013/2014 academic session came out in the first class category. 

1,671 would graduate in second class upper division, and 4,346 in second class lower, adding that 1, 014 made third class and three persons with pass result.

Mr. Orumwense announced that activities for the institution’s 41st convocation and its 45th Founders’ Day celebration would begin on Monday and end on Nov. 28.

268 Diplomas, 541 Post Graduate Diplomas, 2, 212 Masters Degrees and 382 Doctorates will also be awarded during the ceremony.

It was also disclosed that the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, will be formally installed as the 9th Chancellor of the institution while Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase and Prof. Osato Giwa-Osagie, would be conferred with Honorary degrees for their contributions to nation building.
