The National Universities Commission (NUC ) has accredited 11 out of 20 postgraduate and undergraduate academic programmes of the Lagos State University, (LASU).
This was contained in the institution’s official bulletin released to newsmen on Wednesday in Lagos which stated that the Commission had granted Law, Accounting, Banking and Finance, Theatre Art, Music, Physiology, Physical and Health Education full accreditation.
The bulletin listed terminal and academic masters of Business Administration, Human Resources and Personnel Management and Public Administration were also accredited, while Masters of Public Administration was not accredited.
It added that at the undergraduate level, Business Administration, English, French, Philosophy and Yoruba were denied accreditation. The courses placed on interim by NUC are, Insurance, Electronics, Computer Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. The commission fixed the maturity for the review of the courses at year 2017 and 2020 respectively, the bulletin noted.
It will be recalled that the institution did not matriculate its 100-level 2014/2015 law students because as at then the programme was yet to be accredited by the National Universities Commission (NUC).
