Notorious Student Cultist Nabbed By Policemen In Front Of School Gate

Police Surveillance team intercepted one suspected cultist identified as Richard Bassey Ekpo of 158 Goldie Street, Calabar at the gate of College of Education Awi Akamkpa on 7th August, 2015 at about 1:00am. Upon a search one locally-made pistol concealed in his bag was recovered. Suspect is linked to cult related activities in the school, he is now under custody, State CIID Calabar is investigating.

Meanwhile, On 7th August, 2015 at about 7:30am, Police Safer Highways Patrol team along Onitsha-Owerri road were informed by commuters that a gang of armed robbers were operating at a flyover bridge along the said road.

The team immediately rushed to the scene where the hoodlums were met in the act. The suspects immediately bolted upon sighting the Police, they were given a hot chase and one of them arrested. One locally-made Pistol with 2 live cartridges, two mobile phones and the sum of N14,210 were recovered from the suspect.


One of the mobile phones belongs to one of the victims that intimated the Police. Efforts to apprehend other gang members are been intensified. State CIID Awka is investigating.
