Mora Elected ABU Alumni President

Ahmed Tijjani Mora has been elected national president of the over 800,000 strong members of the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Alumni Association.

He was elected during the Annual General Assembly (AGA) of the association attended by delegates from more than 25 states,FCT and Zaria branches of the association, and held at the main campus of ABU, Zaria at the weekend.
Until his emergence as the national president, Dr. Mora , was deputy national president of the association from July 2010.
He took over from the immediate past president of the association, Princess Henrietta I.Ogan, from the Rivers State branch.

The elections climaxed the two day AGA which started on Friday,14th August, 2015 with a pre-AGA lecture delivered by the chairman of the ABU Governing Council, Arc Mohammed Abdullahi Dewu, who also was one time president of the Alumni Association in the 90s.
The vice chancellor of the university, Professor Ibrahim Garba was at the lecture as well as one time minister of state for Education and an alumnus of the University, Alhaji Dauda Birma.

There was also a meeting of the National Consultative Committee (NCC) comprising of chairmen and secretaries from state branches and a representative from each of the 12 Faculties of the University.
The new president, Dr.Mora, who is a pharmacist served as the Registrar and CEO of the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN) for eight years. He was also a foundation member and pioneer chairman of the ABU Pharmacy Alumni Association (ABUPAA) established in 1994 as the first and most vibrant faculty-based chapters in ABU, Zaria.

He is currently the foundation dean, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Kaduna State University (KASU) since 2012.
