The Alvan Ikoku Federal University of Education has been thrown into mourning mood following the death of one of its male student, John Akusu (not real name) who was killed by some yet to be identified cultists.
Investigation revealed that the decease was on his way back to his house around 6pm , when a group of fierce- looking men accosted him. Sensing danger, he reportedly ran for his dear life.. HE ran into the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Owerri. The gang, in a hot chase, followed him till they overtook him inside FMC. They then pumped bullets into him. He died instantly. His body has been deposited at the morgue while police have started investigations into the killing
This is yet another cult war in the already restive city of Owerri, as its been reported already that three students has already been killed in the ongoing cult fracas, One shot dead at the school refectory and another in the hostel and the dead at some location inside the school.
Noniwap.com grapevine learnt that the school hostel has been deserted.
