Police have arrested a 24-year-old Danbury High School science teacher, for having $ex with a one of her students.
Kayla Mooney, who taught chemistry and physics at the school, had earlier reported to the school's administrator that she was being harassed by a girlfriend to one of her male students.
According to an Inquisitr report, a 7-week investigation by the school exposed her sexual relationship with the said student.
Police then issued a warrant for Mooney after which she turned herself in and was arrested and charged with second-degree $exual assault and distributing alcohol to a minor.
Following the findings, the school placed her on a paid administrative leave and the superintendent, Sal Pascarella, sent a message to their students’' parents.
“We are all very disappointed that this has happened to one of our faculty members," Pascarella said.
"Obviously, there is a whole process we have to go through with this investigation. At this point, these are allegations."
Police found email conversations between Mooney and the male student which indicate the student-teacher sexual relationship.
Mooney, initially released on bail, appeared in court on April 14 but her arraignment was postponed at the request of her attorney.
