Counting on the successes and failures in schedule of the ongoing Computer Based Test UTME in Nigeria, we could figure that while the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board succeeded in pleasing some candidates, a few others are left with no choice but complain. Nigeria is a large country with accumulated population of prospective higher institution students seeking entrance into school at all means, but is this the much JAMB can do?
Re recall the assurance given by JAMB management to parents and candidates that measures are already in place to ensure a hitch free examination, but if these arrangements were enough; why are candidates lamenting and protesting over lack of steady power during exam, poor network servers and system shutdowns? A protest had just taken off at a center in Lagos!
Reports from a JAMB CBT Center at Certified Institute of Shipping, CIS, in Magbon, Badagry area of Lagos State, informed that examination started for candidates on Wednesday at about 10.00 pm in the night against the 6.00am given by JAMB. The late start plus the number of candidates to be examined caused the invigilators to hold on the candidates till 4.00 am the next day. Of course parents and guardians of these children got worried!
Students Nigeria also gathered that candidates in the University of Nigeria, UNN, Nsukka, Enugu State was delayed for several hours due to faulty computers before they could start.
What will JAMB do to candidates affected by all these?
