Application for the twelfth (12th) edition of Mike Okonkwo National Essay Competition 2015 has commenced for all qualified and interested students. This year’s essay competition is a form of special way to mark 70th Birthday of the Septuagenarian who is also the Presiding Bishop of The Redeemed Evangelical (TREM). Eligibility for Mike Okonkwo National Essay Competition 2015
This year’s competition like every other years is targeted on Secondary School Students withe ability to express opinion in a selected essay topic. The award is given based on performance after the writing contest.
To apply for this award, interested students are to submit an essay of maximum of 2,000 words on the topic; “The Nigerian Political Class and the Citizens Quest for Good Governance.”
Applicants are to submit their essays with a passport photograph of the student, full name, address, contact telephone number, class, school and name and telephone contact of their principals.
Completed essays are to be submitted via email to essay@trem.org or by post to The Redeemed Evangelical Mission (TREM) International Headquarters, Obanikoro/ Anthony, Lagos. Application will close by Friday, May 15th, 2015.
How Much Is This Award?
1) The first prize winner will go home with a trophy, laptop, N100,000 cash and a plaque while his/her school will get three internet ready desktop computers and a printer.
2) The first runner-up will get a cash prize of N75,000 with a plaque while the school will get two internet ready desktop computers and a printer.
3) The second runner-up will get N50,000 cash prize and a plaque and the school gets an internet ready computer.
Prizes for 2015 award will be presented to the winners at the 16th Mike Okonkwo Annual Lecture, which has been scheduled for Thursday, September 3rd, 2015 at the Muson Centre, Lagos State.
