Application for the 2014/2015 Covenant University Open and Distance Learning (ODL) Programme admission is currently ongoing. The programmes give are certificate and diploma in Entrepreneurship development and Leadership development.

COVENANT UNIVERSITY ADMISSION TO OPEN AND DISTANCE LEARNING PROGRAMMES 2014/15

Covenant University has a mandate to develop a new generation of leaders that will emerge as pathfinders, pacesetters and trailblazers in every field of human endeavour. This has manifested over the years through the quality of her graduates even as she pioneered Entrepreneurship education and introduced other innovations in the Nigerian Education System.
The University hereby calls for qualified applicants to the following programmes:
A. CERTIFICATE / DIPLOMA IN ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT
B. CERTIFICATE / DIPLOMA IN LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT

Objectives of the Programme
  • The objectives of the programme include among others:
  • To introduce participants to various vocations that will enable them to be job creators.
  • To create avenues for employees to acquire entrepreneurial skills before retirement.
  • To enhance participants’ innovativeness and innovation capacity.
  • To make participants entrepreneurs.
Attractions of the Programme
  • An Internship opportunity in successful business units on campus, spanning services industry, production and agribusiness;
  • Course delivery by foremost entrepreneurs and professionals;
  • Encourage entrepreneurial outfits formation at the end of the programme;
  • Linkage to Covenant Microfinance Bank and other venture capitalists;
  • Linkage to experienced successful entrepreneurs in Nigeria; and
  • A visit to Songhai Centre, Port Novo, Benin Republic.
B . CERTIFICATE / DIPLOMA IN LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT
Objectives of the Programme
The objectives of the programme include among others:
  • To acquaint Students with the defining concepts, knowledge, aptitudes, skills, values and competencies that are in consonance with Leadership Development.
  • To provide an enhanced leadership training frame work for person on the verge of or recently appointed to Leadership positions.
  • To provide qualitative impact driven training and Leadership development strategies / skills for staff, supervisors and junior managers.
  • To awaken and enrich the leadership potentials of student’s and sensitize them to prepare to serve as catalysts and agents of change, in addressing the challenges of the Nation, Continent and World.

GENERAL ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR CU OPEN AND DISTANCE LEARNING ADMISSION

A minimum of three credit level passes in three subjects at the SSCE/GCE O’Level/NECO/NABTEB or its equivalent for Certificate Courses.
For the Certificate/Diploma in Leadership
3 credits including English Language are required.
Possession of higher degree will be an added advantage.
Mature Students (business owners and public employees with years of experience) can also be considered for admission.
The leadership programme may be of interest to Pastors, Ministers, General Overseers , Managers of Civil Organizations, Non-Governmental Organizations, Community Leaders, CEO’s and persons who aspire to set up their own organizations.
Applicants have the possibility of moving from Certificate to Diploma Course.
Each level is certificated.
Duration
One year for Certificate Courses and two years for Diploma Courses.

Applicants for the Open and Distance Learning must complete the Covenant University Application Forms, available online at www.odladmission.covenantuniversity.edu.ng
Applicants are to note that the closing date for completion and submission of
Application form would be four weeks after the release of this advert. The cost of the form is N6,600 payable in any Bank.
Applicants can also pay online on the payment page for N6,900 by selecting from the card payment options available using their ATM card.
